Jo-Ann Stores selects Demandware for digital commerce

Burlington, Mass. — Enterprise cloud commerce solution-provider Demandware announced Wednesday that Jo-Ann Stores has selected the Demandware Commerce platform to support its digital commerce strategy.

“We needed a flexible digital commerce platform that would allow us to move quickly to meet the evolving needs of our customers across our web and mobile channels,” said Matt Susz, CIO, Jo-Ann Stores. “Demandware’s cloud-based platform will allow us to deliver innovative brand experiences to inspire and spark our customers’ creativity wherever they choose to shop with us.”

Jo-Ann is working with Demandware LINK Solution Partner, Lyons Consulting Group, on the development and system integration of its new site. In addition, Jo-Ann Stores will leverage pre-built integrations to third-party technologies available through the Demandware LINK Technology Marketplace.

Englewood Construction launches four restaurant projects

Chicago — Lemont, Ill.-based Englewood Construction said Wednesday that its restaurant group has begun work on four new projects, including a food court in New Jersey’s largest outlet mall, a steakhouse in a downtown Chicago luxury hotel and two suburban Chicago mall restaurants.

“As we head out of the recession, we’re seeing more importance placed on dining and entertainment, and the focus is on redevelopment,” said William Di Santo, president, Englewood Construction.

HMS Host has hired Englewood Construction to renovate its 1,000-seat, 11,000-sq.-ft. food court within The Outlet Collection Jersey Gardens, a two-level enclosed outlet mall in Elizabeth, N.J. Environetics Group Architects is the architect.

In Chicago, Denihan Hospitality Group hired Englewood Construction for a 4,000-sq.-ft. renovation and extension of David Burke’s Primehouse at The James Hotel. The expansion will include a new lobby, bar, restaurant area, private dining room and wine cellar. New York-based Design Bureaux is the architect on the project.

In Skokie, Englewood is doing an interior build-out of Roka Akor, a steak, seafood and sushi restaurant in the Old Orchard Shopping Center. The project also includes installing an outdoor patio. Aria Group Architects is the architect.

In Orland Park, Englewood is also building out Sarku Japan in the Orland Square Mall. Architectural Consulting Services is the architect of record.

Family Dollar signs new marketing software contract with Retail Sense

Tampa, Fla. – Family Dollar Stores has signed a multi-year contract with Retail Sense, a marketing software company that accelerates retail and agile marketing processes. This new partnership includes the implementation of the latest release of IntelliSense marketing resource management solutions.

“We rely on our partners, like Retail Sense, to deliver innovative products to support our growth and success so that we can focus on communicating our value message to our customers,” said Jocelyn Wong, SVP and chief marketing officer at Family Dollar. “This new partnership will help us manage all of the moving parts of our marketing campaigns and assist us in managing our marketing resources.”

To enable fast, fact-based marketing decisions, the IntelliSense marketing resource management tool provides customizable dashboards for executives, merchandising and individual team members to access financial reports and historical information. By connecting merchandising, marketing and other departments, the integrated system eliminates redundancy and manual labor and improves planning for thousands of Family Dollar promotional programs. In addition, the improved data integrity results in greater accountability and better cost management.
