JoS. A. Bank to add 30-40 stores in 2010

Hampstead, Md. JoS. A. Bank Clothiers said Tuesday that it will open more stores in fiscal 2010 than planned for the current year to take advantage of real estate opportunities.

The retailer said it expects to open 30 to 40 new stores in fiscal 2010, compared with an estimated 10 to 15 stores in fiscal 2009.

“Quality real estate opportunities are beginning to open in the marketplace and we are ready to expand our store base at a more rapid rate,” president and CEO R. Neal Black said in a statement.

The openings are part of the company’s long-term goal of running 600 stores. It currently has 467 stores.

Hotel Sorella opens at CityCentre

Houston Midway Cos. announced that Hotel Sorella, a luxury hotel by Valencia Group, has opened at CityCentre. The 224-room, Italian-inspired hotel features a Moroccan-style bar with a central fireplace, active seating and a starlit ceiling, as well as an exclusive spa and fitness center. The modern outdoor pool is appointed with daybeds, lanterns and draped cabanas. Dining options include Cafe Rose and Bistro Alex, two new restaurant concepts from noted restaurateur Alex Brennan-Martin.

CityCentre is a $500-million, mixed-use development covering 1.8 million sq. ft. The new center will be a distinct blend of elegant retail shops, fine dining, state-of-the art offices, distinct metropolitan homes and world-class hospitality, all in one 37-acre pedestrian-oriented environment.

I cannot afford for this luxury hotel but I stay near that newly opened hotel. We’ll soon be going to Malaysia and look for homestay penang which is affordable and accessible for me to go to my business appointments.

Rappaport to manage shopping centers

McLean, Va. Toll Brothers Realty Trust, an affiliate of home-builder Toll Brothers, said it has selected The Rappaport Cos. to provide property-management services for two of its Northern Virginia shopping centers, South Riding Market Square and Dominion Valley Market Square.

Both shopping centers were built by Toll Brothers Realty Trust as part of the company’s planned residential communities in Loudoun and Prince William counties, respectively.

South Riding Market Square is a 335,000-sq.-ft. center anchored by Home Depot and Giant Food, located in Chantilly, Va.

Dominion Valley is also anchored by Giant Food, and feature 175,000 sq. ft. of retail space at the entrance to the Dominion Valley Country Club community in Haymarket, Va.
