Just Born introduces new Peeps, Mike and Ike treats for Halloween
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Just Born has introduced new Halloween-themed candies under its Peeps and Mike and Ike brands.
New Peeps snack size mini marshmallow chicks are 34 individually wrapped treats adorned in orange, green and purple. The new Mike and Ike Mummy’s Mix limited-edition flavor mix, packaged in a 5-oz. theater box, includes lemon, orange, grape, lime and raspberry flavors. What’s more, the new Mike and Ike variety bag features Mike and Ike original fruits, RedRageous! and Zours flavors, and is available in both 40-count and 63-count sizes.
The new treats join the current lineup of Just Born Halloween candies, including:
Peeps chocolate-dipped orange chicks, available in 3-count packages;
Peeps chocolate-covered marshmallow pumpkins available in single-serve packages;
Peeps chocolate mousse-flavored marshmallow cats, available in 8-count packages;
Peeps sugar-free pumpkins, available in 3-count packages;
Peeps pumpkins, available in both 8- and 24-count packages;
Peeps ghosts, available in both 3- and 9-count packages; and
Mike and Ike, Hot Tamales and Peanut Chews candies, available in a variety of treat-giving snack size bags.
The Pantry names SVP operations
CARY, N.C. — The Pantry, an independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern United States, announced that Joe Venezia is joining the executive leadership team as SVP operations.
Venezia joins The Pantry from TitleMax. In his new role at The Pantry, he will lead the company’s store operations and be focused on driving sales, improving store productivity, and leading a great store operations team.
Prior to TitleMax, Venezia worked at Walmart where he served in several regional general manager positions before being appointed to division president for the northeast division. In the northeast division, he was responsible for 420 stores and over 100,000 employees. He also worked as president and general manager for Wells Fargo Merchant Services and as a brand manager for Proctor & Gamble.
“Joe is a proven leader with an impressive blend of operating and brand management experience,” said The Pantry’s CEO Dennis Hatchell. “He is ideally suited to lead operations at The Pantry with a successful track record of growing retail and consumer goods sales.”
Venezia earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. He has also served as a captain and company commander in the U.S. Army and received a Bronze Star Medal for his bravery during Operation Desert Storm.
Dick’s launches mobile app
PITTSBURGH — Dick’s Sporting Goods has launced a new mobile application for iPhone and Android smartphones.
With the new Dick’s Sporting Goods Mobile App, users will have access to all the benefits of the ScoreCard Rewards Program, the ability to locate Dick’s stores in the area or make purchases directly from the app as well as be rewarded for engaging with the Dick’s Sporting Goods brand on social media.
