KeyBank chooses mobile financial services platform

Brookfield, Wis. KeyBank has chosen a mobile financial services solution from Fiserv, a provider of financial services technology solutions, to support the bank’s strategic growth plans for its mobile channel. KeyBank has assets of approximately $98 billion.

Fiserv’s Mobile Money solution enables KeyBank customers to access their accounts using any of the three primary mobile access modes: a downloaded application, mobile browser or SMS (text messaging).

Text-messaging capabilities are provided by VeriSign Messaging and Mobile Media.

CBL announces office lease at Pearland Town Center

Chattanooga, Tenn. CBL & Associates Properties said Thursday that architecture and engineering firm Freese and Nichols has signed a lease for a Houston metropolitan office location at Pearland Town Center, the 1.2 million-sq.-ft. mixed-use center located in Pearland, Texas, a suburb of Houston.

Freese and Nichols will operate in a 10,000-sq.-ft. space above the retail stores at Pearland Town Center when it takes occupancy this fall.

Pearland Town Center offers 60,000 sq. ft. of Class A office space, as well as premium retail, residential, and hotel space in an open-air, pedestrian-friendly environment. The center features a 718,000-sq.-ft. open-air lifestyle center anchored by fashion department stores Dillard’s, Macy’s as well as Barnes & Noble and Sports Authority.

Target to manage own Web site

MINNEAPOLIS Target announced that it will no longer partner with Amazon for its online platform. The retailer expects to launch the new platform in advance of the holiday season in 2011.

“Amazon has been an important strategic partner since we re-launched Target.com in 2001, and the strength of Amazon’s technology and fulfillment services has been a contributing factor in Target.com’s success,” said Steve Eastman, president of Target.com. “However, to deliver a customized multi-channel experience for Target’s guests, we believe it is in Target’s best interest going forward to assume full control over the design and management of Target’s e-commerce technology platform, fulfillment and guest services operations.”

Previously, Target and Amazon extended their contract to 2011. Amazon and Target will continue to work together during the next two years to optimize performance of the existing platform and fulfillment services.
