KeyPoint Partners earns three new assignments
Burlington, Mass. — KeyPoint Partners has added three new property management and leasing assignments to its portfolio. The firm will manage and lease Walnut Hill Plaza, a 298,000-sq.-ft. retail center in Woonsocket, R.I., and Summit Square, a 133,900-sq.-ft.-retail center in Warwick, R.I.
In addition, KeyPoint will manage the 97,000-sq.-ft. Harbor Village in Townsend, Mass.
Ross Dress for Less signs into Seattle’s Ballard Blocks
Seattle — Ross Dress for Less plans to open a new 35,000-sq.-ft. store at Ballard Blocks shopping center in Seattle, next year.
The 131,000-sq.-ft. Ballard Blocks is a LEED Silver Certified urban mixed-use retail and office project located next to the Ballard Bridge off-ramp and NW Ballard Way where more than 70,000 cars pass daily. The project has 525 parking stalls on site with an additional 50 spaces on the street.
Current tenants include LA Fitness, Trader Joe’s, Seattle Suntan, Gymboree, Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids, United Studios of Self Defense, UPS, Ballard Bridge Café, Top Pot Doughnuts, Ballard Labs and Kitterman Marketing Group, Inc.
Ballard Blocks is currently undergoing a renovation that will add new merchants, cafes, a water feature, canopy lighting, hand-fabricated furnishings for an urban living room and lush, seasonal landscaping. Hewitt Seattle developed the enhancements in collaboration with LMN Architects. Marian Built designed and is building the handcrafted furnishings. Lighting design is by Luma with Turnstone Construction providing the water feature; Studio SC, the environmental graphics; and structural engineering services from Bykonen Carter Quinn.
The Ross deal will raise Ballard Blocks occupancy rate to 93% with approximately 10,000 sq. ft. remaining at street level for restaurant and retail uses.
Two new tenants for CoolSprings Galleria in Nashville
Chattanooga, Tenn. — The Cheesecake Factory and Island Purveyor featuring Tommy Bahama have taken space at CoolSprings Galleria in Nashville, Tenn., according to the center’s owner CBL & Associates Properties. Both plan to open later this year.
The new tenants are part of CBL’s redevelopment and expansion plans for the 1.1 million-sq.-ft. super regional shopping center anchored by Belk, Dillard’s, J.C. Penney and Macy’s.
The redevelopment will involve a former Sears location and 160,000 sq.-ft. of new space for fashion and home furnishings stores and restaurants. The state’s first American Girl will has announced plans to lease space in the new area. CBL says it will announce more new tenants as the project progresses.
In the Sears component of the redevelopment, Belk will begin a $12.6 million expansion and renovation this fall. The work will include a 50,000-sq.-ft. men’s and kids store on the first level of the former Sears. It is slated to open in March of next year. Belk’s main store renovation will begin in February 2015 with a grand reopening set for October 2015.
