Kitchen Collection expanding reach in Cafaro malls
Youngstown, Ohio Cafaro Co. said Thursday that gourmet retailer Kitchen Collection will open stores in four regional malls affiliated with Cafaro Co.
Kitchen Collection stores will open at Frenchtown Square Mall (Monroe, Mich.), Governor’s Square Mall (Clarksville, Tenn.), Kentucky Oaks Mall (Paducah, Ky.), and Kennedy Mall (Dubuque, Iowa).
The stores in Michigan and Kentucky will open their doors to customers by Nov. 1, and the other two stores will open within the following few weeks. Each store will occupy between 2,400 sq. ft. and 4,300 sq. ft.
Kitchen Collection, based in Chillicothe, Ohio, is unscale purveyor of cookware, bakeware, small appliances, decorative wood, marble and ceramics, and kitchen gadgets.
Texas’ first Kroger Marketplace opens at Waterside Marketplace
Richmond, Texas Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers announced the formal opening of the first Kroger Marketplace store in Texas on Oct. 9.
The 125,000-sq.-ft. store opened at Waterside Marketplace shopping center, located in Richmond. Regency closed on the land acquisition for Waterside Marketplace in April 2007, construction was completed in May, and the center opens fully leased and committed.
The Kroger Marketplace at Waterside Marketplace will be the sixth Kroger store location in Regency Centers’ Houston portfolio and the 12th store statewide with Regency. Kroger has 56 store brand locations nationwide with Regency.
Waterside Marketplace is a 147,857-sq.-ft. community shopping center with a wide variety of retailers that are open for business, including three banks on outparcels. Retailers currently open for business include Wells Fargo, Chase Bank, AMC Nails, Liquor’s 4 Us, Your Local Computer Store, Il Primo Pizza & Wings, and Fossum Family Dental Care.
Slated to open in the next few weeks are Kumon Math & Reading Center and Speedy Mail. Great Clips, West Green Cleaners, State Farm Insurance, Uncle Lee’s Cafe and an optometrist will open by the end of the year.
Las Alamedas restaurant to open at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch
Katy, Texas LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch announced Tuesday that Las Alamedas Restaurant & Cantina will launch construction on a 7,654-sq.-ft. space overlooking Heritage Square, the shopping center’s central courtyard.
The Mexican restaurant projects a spring 2010 opening.
“We had a specific dining experience in mind when designing the restaurant space and adjacent patio overlooking Heritage Square,” said Woody Mann, Jr., president of Houston-based Vista Equities Group and LaCenterra developer along with Denver-based Amstar Group.
