Kriser’s Feeding Pets for Life to open at Valencia Crossroads
Valencia, Calif. Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said Tuesday that pet retailer Kriser’s Feeding Pets for Life has leased retail space in Valencia, Calif., at Valencia Crossroads.
Kriser’s Feeding Pets for Life has leased 2,470 sq. ft. and is slated to open in October.
The 179,603-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Kohl’s alongside Whole Foods, Corner Bakery and Starbucks.
Barbara’s Bookstore to open at Burr Ridge Village Center
Burr Ridge, Ill. Rosemont, Ill.-based Opus North Corp. said that Barbara’s Bookstore has signed a lease at Burr Ridge Village Center, a 20-acre lifestyle center in southwest-suburban Burr Ridge, Ill.
The 7,495-sq.-ft. store is under construction and slated to open in August, with a portion of it commissioned to be a 2,500-sq.-ft. community/reading room to be completed by December.
This will be the twelfth Chicago-area Barbara’s Bookstore, with other locations in University Village, Willis Tower, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Macy’s State Street and O’Hare International Airport. The bookseller also operates a store in South Station, Boston.
Victoria’s Secret opens in Canada
Columbus, Ohio A report by Business First of Columbus on Monday said that Victoria’s Secret has officially launched its Canadian debut, opening on Thursday the first of four stores planned for the provinces in 2010.
Victoria’s Secret opened an 18,000-sq.-ft. store in West Edmonton on Thursday. A 13,500-sq.-ft. store is set to open Aug. 26 in Toronto, and stores are scheduled to open in September in Mississauga and in Toronto in October.
The openings come two years after Limited Brands began its international expansion, first taking its Bath & Body Works chain into Canada. Victoria’s Secret’s Pink nameplate has since moved into Canada, and an overseas partnership will take Bath & Body Works into the Middle East.
Victoria’s Secret is expected to take the overseas plunge by 2012 with a flagship store planned for London, according to the report.
