Kurt Webb is new GM at The Shops at Mission Viejo
Mission Viejo, Calif. — The Shops at Mission Viejo, a Simon Property Group property in Mission Viejo, California, has welcomed Kurt Webb as the new general manager. Webb began working with the center in mid-April and recently relocated to the region. He came on full time as of June 1.
Webb will be responsible for local leasing, tenant relations, building operations, security and marketing efforts. Additionally, he will act as a key liaison for various community and strategic organizations.
Webb has been with Simon Property Group for more than four years, and most recently served as general manager position at Tacoma Mall in Washington for a year and a half. He previously worked as general manager at Midland Park Mall in Texas. He also held management positions at The Domain and Lake Square Mall.
Casto completes Sawmill Square redevelopment
Columbus, Ohio — Casto has completed the redevelopment of Sawmill Square shopping center in the Dublin/NW Columbus area of Central Ohio. The redevelopment included the opening of a new Wal-Mart Supercenter.
The center has also added a McAlister’s Deli, the first in Central Ohio. McAlister will join other new tenants, Sally Beauty and GameStop, as well as the existing line-up of retailers including Z Salon, The UPS Store, Thai Orchid, Huntington Bank, Skyline Chili, Burger King, Goodyear and PNC.

While growth through franchising was certainly a priority for southern California-based fast-casual concept PizzaRev, the company leadership knew streamlining processes and ensuring consistent quality in-house in the short term would pay off exponentially in the long run. That’s why the PizzaRev business plan called for a full year of operation in the original store prior to any franchising.
"It just made sense to hone our operations at our stores, and iron out any kinks before offering franchise opportunities,” said Co-CEO Rodney Eckerman. “In fact, we spent every day for an entire year refining our operation in a studied, clinical fashion. In May 2014, PizzaRev’s first franchised unit opened in a Minneapolis suburb to rave reviews on all fronts, and no operational hiccups at any level. The model has also been applied to franchisee’s planned openings in Salt Lake City, Orange County, California and Austin, Texas, simplifying the process even though there are three different franchisee groups involved.
"We have extensive resources available to our franchisees through our extranet, providing easy access to and application of the tools needed to successfully launch and manage a PizzaRev store,” said Eckerman. “It is important to deliver a consistent customer experience to every PizzaRev guest, and these resources enable our franchisees to do so easily.”
