LA Fitness leases 43,000 sq. ft. at Metro Center Atrium

Bronx, N.Y. — Simone Development Cos. announced that LA Fitness will open a 43,000-sq.-ft. facility at Metro Center Atrium, a new 370,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use project in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx in New York.

The office, retail and hotel complex is the latest phase in Simone Development’s 42-acre, multi-building Hutchinson Metro Center campus.

LA Fitness’s new gym is slated to open November 2013, and will join a newly announced Residence Inn-branded hotel at Metro Center Atrium.

"Metro Center Atrium has already attracted national-level companies like Marriott and LA Fitness, and we expect that this project will continue to draw high-caliber office, medical, and retail users," said James MacDonald, director of leasing for Hutchinson Metro Center.

Essensuals London opens at Cherry Hill Mall

Cherry Hill, N.J. — Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust said that upscale salon Essensuals London has officially opened at its Cherry Hill Mall property in Cherry Hill, N.J.

The 1,530-sq.-ft. salon – the company’s first on the East Coast – joins the recently opened North Face and Henri Bendel. Pottery Barn is set to open this fall.

Cherry Hill Mall is anchored by Nordstrom, Macy’s and J.C. Penney, and features retailers such as Apple, A/X Armani Exchange, Brighton Collectibles, Coach, Crate and Barrel, Michael Kors, The Container Store and True Religion.

Discover Mills to be renamed Sugarloaf Mills

Lawrenceville, Ga. — Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group announced its Discover Mills outlet mall destination in Lawrenceville (Atlanta), Ga., will be renamed Sugarloaf Mills.

The new brand links the center with Sugarloaf Parkway, where it is situated. New exterior signage, website, brochures and other promotional materials will reflect the new name starting in October.
