Language Stars to open at Bannockburn Green
Chicago Mid-America Asset Management said Tuesday it has leased 2,998 sq. ft. to educational chain Language Stars for a learning center at Bannockburn Green, in Bannockburn, Ill.
In other news at Bannockburn Green, leases were renewed with Newport Coffee for 1,809 sq. ft., and with GNC for 1,513 sq. ft.
Bannockburn Green is a 176,210-sq.-ft. lifestyle/convenience center anchored by Dominick’s, Erehwon Mountain Outfitter, Walgreens and Panera Bread.
New store dedicated to green lifestyle debuts
North Bergen, N.J. Eco Shoppe, a new retail concept dedicated to eco-friendly products for healthy personal environments and everyday living, has opened its first store, in Austin, Texas. The store is owned and operated by The Vitamin Shoppe.
The 4,400-sq. ft. store was designed by Kiku Obata & Co., which assisted Vitamin Shoppe in developing the Eco Shoppe brand, store experience and unique merchandise mix to support the goal of making green living a more engaging and uncomplicated proposition for shoppers.
Eco Shoppe expects to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, as the store has been designed to take advantage of an environmentally responsible vision. All the Eco Shoppe casework was manufactured at IDX Seattle, an FSC-Certified division of IDX Corp. In addition, IDX provided sustainability guidance.
Oakbrook Center hosts Chicago designers
Oak Brook, Ill. General Growth Properties said Thursday that its Oakbrook Center, in Oakbrook, Ill., will host “The Chicago Indie Collection” on Aug. 22.
Co-hosted by SeeMore Shopping, the event will feature more than a dozen designers, including 1154 Lill, headquartered in Chicago.
The Chicago Indie Collection is a pop-up boutique that will be located outdoors between Crate and Barrel and Lord & Taylor.
