LaVida Massage Shop to open at Foxcroft
Charlotte, N.C. Crosland LLC said that LaVida Massage will open at Foxcroft Shopping Center in Charlotte, N.C., bringing the shopping center to full occupancy. The new tenant is opening in a vacant Blockbuster space.
LaVida Massage will open a 3,010-sq.-ft. therapeutic massage spa in October.
Harrods in talks to open Shanghai store
Shanghai London-based luxury department store retailer Harrods is said to be considering opening a store in Shanghai according to a Friday report by China Daily.
The paper said that Harrods is holding talks with the Shanghai municipal government on the opening of its first store outside the United Kingdom in the historic Bund area of Shanghai.
The proposed venture in China was initiated by managing director Michael Ward, according to the report. The plans, however, have yet to be confirmed.
Harrods was acquired on May 8 by Qatar Holdings for 1.5 billion pounds from Egyptian billionaire Mohammed al-Fayed.
Nordstrom Rack to open at Pacific Commons
Fremont, Calif. Seattle-based Nordstrom said Friday it will open a new Nordstrom Rack at Pacific Commons shopping center in Fremont, Calif.
The 34,710-sq.-ft. store is slated to open in spring 2011.
The section of Pacific Commons where the new Rack will be located features a retail lineup that includes Kohl’s, Old Navy and DSW, among others. Pacific Commons is an 839,000-sq.-ft. shopping center owned and operated by Catellus Development Group, a ProLogis company.
Nordstrom currently operates three stores in the East Bay Area, including a Rack in San Leandro and two Nordstrom stores located in Pleasanton and Walnut Creek.
