The Little Clinic expands into Atlanta area with four new clinic openings

Nashville — The Little Clinic on Monday announced the opening of two convenient care clinics within Kroger in the Atlanta area. Two additional clinic openings are slated for August, which would bring the total number of locations in Georgia to six.

“With the addition of four more locations in 2012, there will be a convenient location of The Little Clinic in several Atlanta-area communities,” stated Johnett Thompson, regional clinical director for The Little Clinic.

In related news, The Little Clinic also opened a location inside the Stapleton King Soopers store in Denver, Colo. There currently are 12 Little Clinic locations within King Soopers stores in Colorado.

The Little Clinic is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kroger.

I have a memory foam mattress and love it. I don't think its very hot, but then again my house is really cold even in the hot summers. The first night I didn't really like it but now I really, really lperature controlled. Ect. That just means that the spot you have been laying in gets really soft and comfy. The rest of the mattress will feet a lot harder and harder to the touch. Hope that helped and made sense!!! http://www.amerisleep.com/adjustable-beds.html

United Supermarkets expands Kronos Workforce Management solution

Chelmsford, Mass. — Workforce management solution-provider Kronos Inc. said Tuesday that United Supermarkets has expanded its relationship with Kronos after achieving a seven-figure savings through the deployment of a Kronos labor planning tool in conjunction with the workforce management solution.

The supermarket chain is extending its commitment in order to control labor costs, minimize compliance risk, and improve workforce productivity.

“In our industry, we need to work with tight margins, and optimizing workforce management is very important for profitable operations,” said David Crews, director of strategic projects, United Supermarkets. 
“With Kronos, we have already achieved multimillion dollar cost savings and enhanced customer satisfaction, our number one priority. We’re now looking forward to further extending the value of workforce management.”

Before Kronos, United said that store managers spent a majority of their time scheduling employees manually. However, after implementing Kronos, a manager can schedule 400 employees in just two hours at one of the company’s largest stores.

Additionally, as hiring and placing the right associate in stores has been only half the battle for the supermarket chain, United is also ensuring that management of employee requests is as easy as possible. By providing associates with a self-service option to request shift changes and time off, United can also now easily track employee preferences.

United Supermarkets said it will now extend the Kronos forecasting and scheduling solution to the deli, pharmacy, and produce departments to start experiencing the benefits of an integrated workforce management system across all stores.

C&K Markets chooses Retalix to cut costs, ease PCI compliance

Dallas — Grocery chain C&K Market Inc. said it has deployed Connected Payments from Retalix, rolling out the cloud-based, software-as-a-service payments system across its 61 Ray’s Food Place, Ray’s Shop Mart and C&K Market banners. The grocer also uses Retalix POS software across its enterprise.

Alan Nidiffer, chief information officer of C&K Market, said Connected Payments will help his company better manage compliance-related transaction data, while improving overall POS efficiency and reducing costs. The Connected Payments subscription-based model eliminated all of C&K’s up-front license costs for the new system, while providing operational efficiency from centralized online reporting and analysis, according to Nidiffer.

"We wanted to effectively meet increasing PCI standards, and Connected Payments provided the best solution because it actually removes all cardholder data from our stores," said Nidiffer. "The result is optimal transaction data security. In addition, Connected Payments has helped us reduce our electronic payments costs overall, and it provides centralized reporting that improves our operational performance."
