Macy’s Names Deputy General Counsel
Cincinnati Macy’s Inc.’s board of directors has elected Ann Munson Steines to the new position of VP, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary, effective immediately. She will be based in Cincinnati and report to Dennis J. Broderick, the company’s general counsel and secretary.
Munson Steines currently serves as divisional VP and associate general counsel at Macy’s. She joined the company in April 1998 as assistant counsel in employment law and has risen through positions of increasing responsibility.
She will oversee Macy’s regional law offices in Atlanta, New York, St. Louis and San Francisco, as well as benefits attorneys and Cincinnati-based employment lawyers.
Before joining Macy’s, Munson Steines was a senior attorney for labor and employment law.
Former Kmart Exec to Head Mervyns
Hayward, Calif. Mervyns has named John Goodman, a former senior VP and chief apparel and home officer for Kmart, as president and CEO, effective April 7.
Goodman most recently served as president and general manager of Levi Strauss’ Dockers brand.
Cabela’s Senior VP to Retire
Sidney, Neb. Cabela’s announced that Michael Callahan, senior VP of business development and international operations, will retire from the company effective May 17. He will remain as a consultant to assist with the transition.
Callahan joined Cabela’s in 1990 and held numerous leadership positions in merchandising and marketing, as well as serving as senior VP of retail operations.
