Marcy Syms elected chairman of Syms Corp.

Secaucus, N.J. Syms Corp. announced that Marcy Syms, president and CEO, has been elected to the additional post of chairman of the board. The announcement was made following the board’s meeting Thursday.

Syms succeeds her father, Sy Syms, who was the founder of Syms and chairman of Syms Corp. until his death in November.

She joined family-owned Syms Clothing in 1978.

Access Display Group, appoints lead customer service coordinator

Freeport, N.Y. Access Display Group, a leading designer and manufacturer of signage fixtures and visual merchandising display fixtures for retail stores announced the appointment of Jessica Malarkey as customer service coordinator.

Malarkey, had joined the company in September 2009 and is responsible for day-to-day inside customer service matters relating to all aspects the company’s products — from customer inquiries to working with a growing network of dealers and re-sellers. She will be coordinating all customer service efforts for all Access Display Group’s e-commerce Web sites including Displays4Sale.com and floorstands.com.

Prior to Joining Access Display Group, Malarkey worked in sales and customer service positions for Lowes Home Improvement and Target.

Raley’s welcomes back former CEO

Sacramento, Calif. Raley’s said that former CEO Michael Teel will return to the helm of the supermarket chain. Teel, grandson of founder Tom Raley, led Raley’s between 1996 and 2002. He recently noted that it is his goal to keep the chain privately held.

“This is a special company,” Michael Teel said in a statement. “We are unique in how our employees offer service to our customers. I value that strength, and see it as essential to who we are. As a leader, my role is to foster this unique quality and allow it to thrive.”
