Margolis to leave Limited Brands

COLUMBUS, Ohio In connection with the sale by Limited Brands of 75% of the ownership interest in Express Holding, LLC to Express Investment Corp., Jay Margolis, former president of the apparel division, would end his employment with Limited Brands, the company announced today in an SEC filing.

According to the filing, Limited Brands has will pay retention payments to Margolis of approximately $1.7 million.

LG.Philips LCD returns to black

SEOUL, Korea LG.Philips LCD today reported that sales in the second quarter of 2007 increased by 23% to $3.6 billion from sales of $3 billion in the first quarter of 2007 and increased 45% compared to $2.5 billion in the second quarter of 2006.

Operating profit in the second quarter of 2007 was $163 million compared to an operating loss of $225 million in the first quarter of 2007, and an operating loss of  $403 million in the second quarter of 2006. Net income in the second quarter of 2007 was a profit of $247 million compared to a loss of $183 million in the first quarter of 2007 and a loss of $349 million in the second quarter of 2006.

Ferguson to head store growth at Cabela’s

SIDNEY, Neb. Cabela’s announced today that Lynn Ferguson has been named senior vp of retail strategy and real estate development, a new position. In this role, he will report to Dennis Highby, Cabela’s president and ceo, and be responsible for Cabela’s retail store expansion plans and retail strategy.

Ferguson was most recently the chief marketing officer and executive vp of National Recreational Properties, a direct-to-consumer real estate and financial company. He previously served in senior retail and marketing positions with Tower Records, Charles Schwab and Walt Disney. He began his career in retail development with Hewlett-Packard and as the founder of PAC West Design.
