MaxMart to open at MacArthur Towne Center

Allentown, Pa. Schottenstein Property Group announced that MaxMart, a new concept discount apparel retailer will open at the former Barnes & Noble location in MacArthur Towne Center in Allentown, Pa.

SRS Real Estate Partners, which represented both Barnes & Noble in the lease termination and Schottenstein Property Group in the lease to MaxMart, said that the 19,937-sq.-ft. MaxMart is expected to open in July. The retail store will be the first for the wholesaler of casual apparel, which also plans to open four to five locations in north and central New Jersey, northern Pennsylvania and possibly the Philadelphia area.

Kmart, Signature Furniture, Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, and Party City already have stores in the 230,000-sq.-ft. center.

Neiman Marcus’ Last Call Studio to open in Md.

New York City Neiman Marcus will open a Last Call Studio store at Congressional Plaza, in Rockville, Md., this fall. It is the outlet brand’s second location to date.

The 13,300-sq.-ft, store features upscale  trendy apparel and accessories in a discount-boutique environment.

Tommy Hilfiger to open Paris flagship

Amsterdam Tommy Hilfiger Group will open a 9,000-sq.-ft. flagship store on the Champs des Elysees in Paris, this fall.

“The Champs Elysees store will serve as a true flagship for our brand in France and will further anchor our significant retail presence in Europe,” said Fred Gehring, CEO of the Tommy Hilfiger Group, which is wholly owned by Phillips-Van Heusen Corp.

The three-floor store will pay tribute to the brand’s heritage by incorporating an eclectic mix of vintage furniture and props from America as well as those from France.
