Men’s Wearhouse announces new group and management teams
Houston Men’s Wearhouse announced the creation of Men’s Wearhouse Global Corporate Apparel and Workwear Group and corresponding management teams in Europe and North America.
On Aug. 6, Men’s Wearhouse formed a U.K. holding company and acquired Dimensions Clothing Ltd. (“Dimensions”) and certain assets of Alexandra, plc, two leading providers of corporate clothing uniforms and workwear in the United Kingdom. The U.K. group will be a significant platform for growth opportunities in Europe and joins the company’s North American Group, which includes TwinHill.
George Zimmer, Men’s Wearhouse founder, chairman and CEO, stated, “We have greatly enhanced our corporate apparel and workwear programs with our U.K. acquisitions and the appointment of a group of seasoned executives.
Zimmer said industry veteran, Stuart Graham has been named as executive chairman of the company’s European Group. In North America, the retained named Edward Doran as group president. He formerly ran the Imagewear Coalition at VF Corp.
Performance Bicycle names exec
Chapel Hill, N.C. Specialty bike retailer Performance Bicycle said Tuesday it has appointed John Buleza as VP direct marketing.
Buleza will be responsible for helping to drive the company’s growth through the web, a revitalized catalog, e-mail marketing, direct mail and search marketing.
Most recently, he served as director of marketing for Current USA, where he managed marketing efforts for consumer brands Lillian Vernon, Current and Colorful Images. Prior to that, Buleza was senior marketing director for Ross-Simmons, where he helped manage the web and retail marketing teams.
Performance Bicycle operates more than 90 nationwide stores.
Belk names president, chief merchandising officer
Charlotte, N.C. Belk said it has promoted Kathryn Bufano to president and chief merchandising officer, according to a report by the Charlotte Business Journal.
Bufano fills a role previously held by McKay Belk, who will be vice chairman of the retail chain.
Bufano has been president of merchandising and marketing since she joined Belk in early 2008. She previously was CEO of the Vanity Shops chain and held executive-level merchandising positions at Sears Roebuck and Co., The Dress Barn, Macy’s East and Lord & Taylor.
She will continue to report to Tim Belk, chairman and CEO.
