Michaels CFO Resigns

Irving, Texas Michaels Stores announced that Jeffrey Boyer, president and CFO, will resign effective April 4.

Michaels will conduct a search for a replacement CFO and will consider both internal and external candidates, the company said.

In the interim, the company has named Lisa K. Klinger, senior VP of finance and treasurer, to be acting CFO.

It has also named Richard S. Jablonski, VP of finance and corporate controller, to serve as principal accounting officer.

Hibbett Sports Adds Two Directors

Birmingham, Ala. Hibbett Sports, Inc. announced Monday that Albert C. Johnson and Terrance G. Finley have been appointed to the company’s board of directors. The two new additions bring the board’s current membership to eight directors.

Hibbett also announced that current board member Clyde B. Anderson will not stand for re-election at the 2008 annual shareholders meeting when his term expires. Anderson has been on the company’s board of directors since 1987.

Brown Shoe Names Two New Board Members

St. Louis Brown Shoe Co. said late Monday it elected Mario Baeza and Harold “Bud” Wright to its board of directors.

Baeza is the founder of The Baeza Group, a merchant banking firm focusing on investments in the U.S. Hispanic market, as well as in Latin America.

Wright has 38 years of retail experience, the first 28 as an operating principal of R.H. Macy’s, the department store chain of Macy’s Inc., and the last 10 years in executive search, specializing in retailing.

Baeza and Wright’s elections increase the number of board members from 11 to 13.
