Miller-Zell names VP of digital innovation
Atlanta — Miller Zell has named James Warner VP of digital innovation, responsible for driving integrated experiences, digital brand engagements and relevant technology solutions into the overall shopper journey.
Previously Warner worked with W3 Design, Momentum Worldwide and Moxie Interactive, where he led consumer-centric design and technology development for tier one retailers and global brands such as Coca-Cola, Nokia, Verizon, Red Bull North America, American Express, 20th Century Fox and Nike.
Target launches sustainable product line
Minneapolis — Target Corp. is introducing “Made to Matter – Handpicked by Target.” The collection brings together 17 natural, organic and sustainable brands to introduce new products.
Spanning Target’s baby, beauty and personal care, grocery, healthcare and household product categories, Made to Matter brands include Annie’s Homegrown, Burt’s Bees, Chobani, Clif Bar & Company, Ella’s Kitchen, EVOL, Horizon Organic, Hyland’s, Kashi, Method, Plum Organics, Seventh Generation, SheaMoisture, Target’s Simply Balanced, Vita Coco, Yes To and Zarbee’s Naturals. The Made to Matter collection includes all products currently offered at Target by the participating brands and at least one new exclusive item from each brand.
There will be more than 120 new and limited-time exclusive Made to Matter products. Products will be available throughout the store, both in the products’ usual aisles and as part of specialized collection displays. Select products also will be available on Target.com and Target’s mobile app. First introduced in Target stores at the end of March 2014, new Made to Matter products will be added throughout spring and summer, with the complete collection available by September 2014.

Guess appoints Brooks Bros. veteran to board
Los Angeles – The board of directors of Guess Inc. has appointed Joseph Gromek, increasing the number of directors to seven and bringing the total number of independent directors to five. Gromek will also serve on the Compensation and Nominating and Governance Committees of the board.
Gromek was president and CEO of The Warnaco Group Inc., a global apparel company, from 2003 until his retirement in 2012. Prior to that time, he served as president and CEO of Brooks Brothers Inc. and held senior management positions with a variety of other retail and apparel companies including Saks Fifth Avenue, Limited Brands Inc. and Ann Taylor.
"I have known Joe since he was at Saks Fifth Avenue in the early 80’s,” said Maurice Marciano, chairman of the board. “He has had an amazing career in the industry and he’s bringing with him tremendous experience both in the United States and worldwide. We are delighted that Joe will be joining our board."
