Modell’s to open on Upper West Side
New York City Manhattan-based Robert K. Futterman & Associates said Thursday it has arranged for a long-term, 7,316-sq.-ft. lease for Modell’s Sporting Goods at 350 Amsterdam Ave., between 76th and 77th Streets in Manhattan.
The new store is located at the base of The Harrison, an 18-story, 125-unit luxury residential condominium designed by Robert A.M. Stern. It will be Modell’s first store with its new smaller concept.
Modell’s currently operates 144 stores throughout New York; New Jersey; Pennsylvania; Connecticut; Rhode Island; Massachusetts; New Hampshire; Delaware; Maryland; Virginia; and Washington, DC.
Pop-Tarts opens Times Square pop-up
New York City The Pop-Tarts brand has opened its first retail store, a temporary location just off Manhattan’s Times Square. The lease on the 3,200-sq-ft. shop, on the south side of 42nd Street between Sixth Avenue and Broadway, runs through January, at which point executives reportedly will decide whether a store all about toaster pastries makes long-term sense.
Pop-Tarts World has a whimsical design, with interactive games and kiosks that allow visitors to create custom-mixed boxes of Pop-Tart. It sells a wide variety of themed merchandise and apparel. It also features a cafe that offers more than 30 Pop-Tart creations.
Pop-Tarts is owned by the Kellogg Co.
SRS wins listing for Edgewood Retail District
Atlanta Dallas-based SRS Real Estate Partners said it has won the listing for the Edgewood Retail District in Atlanta.
The 540,000-sq.-ft. retail center is co-anchored by Target and Lowe’s. Co-tenants include Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kroger, Barnes & Noble, Ross Stores, Office Depot and Petco.
