NARMS Names Fanning to Board of Directors
NARMS International has named Charles Fanning, VP—MSO Division, Synergy Systems, Inc., Richmond, Va.) to fulfill an unexpired term on the board of directors of NARMS International (National Association for Retail Marketing Services). In making the nomination, NARMS Chairman Don Koller (Lawrence Merchandising Services, Plymouth, Minn.) returns Fanning to the board where he earlier served three years with this new appointment marking the first time that NARMS has included service on the board by an associate member company representative.
The seat was created by a resignation earlier this month due to a position change by Tom Caddell, who now continues to provide NARMS assistance in his new role at Chuck Latham Associates, Inc.; assisting in the organizing of the Organic/Natural Product panel scheduled for the 14th Annual NARMS Spring Conference. Caddell served over four years on the 11-person NARMS board, including two years as association treasurer.
GNC Names Michael M. Nuzzo as Executive VP and CFO
General Nutrition Centers, Inc., the largest global specialty retailer of nutritional supplements, today announced that it has named Michael M. Nuzzo, as executive VP and CFO. In that role, he will report directly to Joe Fortunato, CEO of GNC.
Nuzzo joins GNC after spending the past nine years with Abercrombie Fitch, where his last position was the senior VP, Finance. His career at Abercrombie spanned significant financial-leadership roles for both the A store organization as well as their various corporate business units. Nuzzo has his MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago and his undergraduate degree in economics from Kenyon College.
Abercrombie Finance VP Stepping Down
Columbus, Ohio Abercrombie & Fitch told investors this week that Michael Nuzzo, the company’s senior VP of finance, plans to resign Sept. 25 to become CFO at General Nutrition Centers, Inc. Upon Nuzzo’s departure, Abercrombie controller Brian Logan will take on the post’s financial and accounting duties.
Nuzzo follows former Abercrombie CFO Michael Kramer, who left last month to become president and CEO of Kellwood Co., a New York-based retailer that makes and markets the Phat Farm, Sag Harbor and XOXO brands.
