New online health store opens
Salmon Arm, British Columbia – Affiliate health-and-wellness retailer Salkam Online Solutions LLC is opening a new online store at YouNeedIt.biz. The site offers products including health and wellness books, exercise machines, weights, footwear, in-home training items and vitamins and supplements. YouNeedIt.com recommends products from partner retailers and does not maintain its own inventory.

Kroger ratifies labor agreement with UFCW Local 700
INDIANAPOLIS — Kroger central division employees working at Kroger stores in the Indianapolis area have ratified a new four-year labor agreement with UFCW Local 700.
"We are pleased to reach an agreement that is good for our associates and provides wage increases, affordable health care and a stable pension fund to support their retirement," said Jeff Burt, president of Kroger’s central division. "This agreement comes after thoughtful, respectful and productive work by both the company and union bargaining committees. I want to thank our associates for supporting this agreement and for the excellent service they provide to our customers every day."
The contract covers more than 5,800 associates working in 61 stores in the Indianapolis area and other communities, including Bloomington, Columbus, Kokomo, Richmond and New Castle.
"Thanks to the efforts of the bargaining committee, we reached an agreement that protects affordable health care benefits and livable wages for members of UFCW Local 700," said Joe Chorpenning, president, UFCW Local 700. "Our contract maintains one of the best health care and wage packages in the industry."
Kroger has 343,000 employees who serve customers in 2,424 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states under two dozen local banner names including Kroger, City Market, Dillons, Jay C, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, King Soopers, QFC, Ralphs and Smith’s. The company also operates 786 convenience stores, 328 fine jewelry stores, 1,169 supermarket fuel centers and 37 food processing plants in the U.S.
New VP of real estate at Family Dollar
MATTHEWS, N.C. — Family Dollar has named Brad Rogers as the company’s SVP of real estate. Rogers replaces Keith Gehl, who announced his retirement from the company at the end of June. Rogers will report to chairman and CEO Howard R. Levine.
“For more than 53 years, our real estate strategy has been to open Family Dollar stores where our customers live and work,” said Levine. “Brad’s real estate experience and leadership will ensure that we continue to bring value and convenience to hundreds of new neighborhoods and thousands of new customers each year."
Rogers joined Family Dollar in 1998 as a real estate manager with responsibility for new store development in North and South Carolina. Between 2006 and 2011, he assumed greater roles with increased responsibilities, and in 2011, he was named VP of real estate. Rogers has a bachelor of arts from Millsaps College and earned a JD from Emory University.
“Throughout his 10-year career with Family Dollar, Keith Gehl has led our real estate efforts and had a significant impact on the strengthening and expansion of our real estate capabilities,” added Levine. “I sincerely appreciate the significant contributions he made during his career with Family Dollar and wish him all the best in his retirement.”
Family Dollar currently operates more than 7,800 stores in 45 states.
