New real estate venture launched
Los Angeles A retail real estate strategic planning and implementation firm has been launched by two former retailers.
Cheryl Rose-Mack, former associate VP real estate, Limited Brands, and Carol Rosenfeld, strategic real estate consultant to Guess Retail and former SVP real estate, Foot Locker Realty, have opened The CM&R Group to represent retail tenants “across a variety of real estate platforms,” said Rose-Mack.
The new company will operate from its base headquarters in Los Angeles.
Ikea names new CEO
Stockholm, Sweden Ikea announced Friday it has promoted company veteran Mikael Ohlsson to become its new chief executive.
Ohlsson, currently head of Ikea’s South Europe and North America businesses, will replace Anders Dahlvig, who has led the privately owned business for the past 10 years, on Sept. 1.
Ikea employs around 128,000 people and owns 262 stores in 24 countries. Including franchise locations, it has 296 outlets in 36 countries.
Pantry CEO to retire
Sanford, N.C. Independent convenience store chain The Pantry announced Thursday that its chairman and CEO Peter Sodini will retire from the company when his contract expires on Sept. 30. The company’s board of directors has formed a search committee and plans to have a new CEO in place upon his retirement.
Meanwhile, the company also reported that Frank Paci has been promoted to executive VP business operations. He was previously the SVP finance, CFO and secretary. Paci will continue to serve in these roles, and will assume additional responsibilities for acquisitions and legal affairs.
