Nine West Opens International Flagships
New York, Nine West Group, a division of Jones Apparel Group, opened flagship locations this December in Tokyo, Moscow and Vietnam as part of a global expansion initiative that began in early 2006. The new stores marked the debut of the company’s updated store format, which is designed to strengthen the brand’s fashion presence in footwear, accessories and handbags.
Winn-Dixie Adds 55 Stores to Hispanic Markets
Jacksonville, Fla., Winn-Dixie Stores announced it will be adding 55 stores to its Hispanic Neighborhood Merchandising program in the United States. The expansion includes 30 locations in the Miami market and 25 Orlando-area stores.
The chain has 103 of its 522 locations that are specifically merchandised and marketed to the Hispanic consumer, blending products and services for Hispanics into its core offerings.
Sears Canada Taps Sears Holdings Execs
Toronto, Sears Canada announced Friday that its board of directors appointed Dene Rogers as president and CEO, effective Thursday. Rogers has been the company’s acting president since May 9.
Prior to his role with Sears Canada, Rogers was executive VP of restructuring and business improvement for Sears Holdings and previously served as executive VP and general manager of Kmart Stores. He joined Kmart in October 2003.
William Crowley has been named chairman of Sears Canada. Crowley, also a member of the board of directors of Sears Holdings, has served as Sears Holdings’ executive VP and chief administrative officer, and has been a member of the Sears Canada Board since March 2005.
Former CEO Brent Hollister left Sears Canada in May after 37 years with the company.
