Nordstrom Rack to open at Pacific Commons
Fremont, Calif. Seattle-based Nordstrom said Friday it will open a new Nordstrom Rack at Pacific Commons shopping center in Fremont, Calif.
The 34,710-sq.-ft. store is slated to open in spring 2011.
The section of Pacific Commons where the new Rack will be located features a retail lineup that includes Kohl’s, Old Navy and DSW, among others. Pacific Commons is an 839,000-sq.-ft. shopping center owned and operated by Catellus Development Group, a ProLogis company.
Nordstrom currently operates three stores in the East Bay Area, including a Rack in San Leandro and two Nordstrom stores located in Pleasanton and Walnut Creek.
Duane Reade opens Union Square flagship store
New York City Drug store retailer Duane Reade announced the opening of its new flagship store located at the southern end of Union Square Park in Manhattan on a site once occupied by Virgin Superstore.
The new 13,944-sq.-ft. store, located at 52 E. 14th St., has dedicated substantial space to beauty products and services, including a Ramy Brow Bar, and a new beauty section that features an expanded “Look Boutique,” Duane Reade’s exclusive beauty bar offering.
It also offers a walk-in clinic and a 24-hour pharmacy, as well as dedicated food section.
Magic Carpets to open in D&D District in Manhattan
New York City Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group said Thursday that Persian carpet purveyor Keypour Collection will open at 989 Third Avenue, a free-standing brand building in the D&D District.
Located on one of the busiest corridors in the city, a block shared by the Design & Decoration Building, as well as Bloomingdale’s and the Bloomberg Building, it is the former longtime home of the Rugs & Kilm Shop.
