Office Depot names president of newly combined North America division
Boca Raton, Fla.— Office Depot Inc. announced Wednesday that it has appointed Kevin Peters as president, North America, a new position that combines the company’s previous North American Retail and North American Business Solutions divisions.
Peters was previously president of North American Retail.
“For the first time, we are consolidating all of our North American operations under one leader, allowing us to break down silos, increase our productivity and improve the execution of our key initiatives,” said Neil Austrian, chairman and CEO.
Other management changes announced by Office Depot on Wednesday included: Bob Moore was named executive VP and chief marketing officer, and Farla Efros was named interim head of merchandising. Michael Allison was promoted to executive VP, human resources. Monica Luechtefeld, executive VP, e-commerce and direct marketing, is retiring and her duties will be assumed by Barry Litwin, VP, e-commerce and Christine Buscarino, VP, direct and customer marketing. Luechtefeld will remain with the organization as a consultant.
Steve Schmidt previously, president, BSD, was named executive VP, corporate strategy and new business development.
Alliance Data signs long-term renewal agreement with The RoomPlace
Dallas — Alliance Data Systems Corporation announced it has signed a long-term renewal agreement to continue providing private label credit card services for The RoomPlace.
Under terms of the agreement, Alliance Data will continue providing The RoomPlace with private label credit card services, including account acquisition and activation; receivables funding; card authorization; private label credit card issuance; statement generation; remittance processing; customer service functions; and marketing services.
In addition, Alliance Data will provide additional RoomPlace Credit Card account-holder benefits, such as flexible financing options designed to support repeat purchases and customer satisfaction, as well as advance notification of sales and promotions.

Pet Supplies “Plus” names president and CEO
Farmington Hills, Mich. — Pet specialty retailer Pet Supplies “Plus” announced Wednesday that it has promoted Dave Bolen to president and CEO, effective immediately.
Bolen joined the company on May 2 as president, arriving from Petco where he was executive VP and chief merchandising officer.
Prior to Petco, Bolen was executive VP merchandising, marketing and supply chain for Jo-Ann Stores.
Harvey Solway has been promoted from CEO to Executive Chairman.
Pet Supplies “Plus” is the third-largest pet specialty retailer in the United States with 243 stores in 22 eastern states. The company was acquired by Irving Place Capital in 2010.
