OfficeMax Chooses New HQ

Shaker Heights, Ohio, OfficeMax has selected Naperville, Ill., as the site of its new corporate headquarters, thanks to a $20 million incentive by Gov. Rod Blagojevich. OfficeMax will bring 700 jobs to Illinois as a result of the move.

The move from the retail headquarters in Shaker Heights to Naperville will take place late next spring.

The Hits Keep Coming: BlueDolphin Leads the Way

New York City, BlueDolphin-Magazines.com finished the week as the nation’s fastest moving retail Web site. According to the on-line intelligence firm Hitwise.com, the book retailer’s jump of 54,977 positions to its current rank as the 1,307th most visited Web site represents a 3,801% increase in the market share.

BlueDolphin claimed the top spot despite a strong 3,389% gain by office supply retailer Pitney Works, whose Web site ranking surged to 1,110th place, good for a leap of 40,193 positions. Rounding out the top three was International Wine Cellars’ rise of 156,139 slots, a 2,168% growth.

London Calling Whole Foods

New York City, Whole Foods reportedly wants to open as many as five new stores in central London, beginning in early 2007. The food chain also believes it can introduce approximately 15 new stores into the London suburbs, with the hope that the British will be wooed by healthy and organic foods.
