Online puppet retailer to become ‘real’ store chain

Mount Shasta, Calif. – Following the lead of Pinocchio, online puppet and educational toy retailer ePuppets Inc. is joining the “real” world.

E-Puppets will open its first physical store on July 4, in its headquarters town of Mount Shasta, California.

The company plans to expand the brand throughout California to include locations in Silicon Valley and Los Angeles. Also in the works are plans to spin off an entertainment division called ePuppets TV, featuring original content, characters, cartoons, feature films, and merchandising opportunities featuring the ePuppets brand.

As part of the company's online marketing strategy, ePuppets has integrated an affiliate marketing program supported by Impact Radius. Website owners and online marketers can promote ePuppets.com and earn commissions on sales they refer.

Outlet mall coming to Orange County in October

San Clemente, Calif. – The Outlets at San Clemente announces its grand opening coming in October. The lifestyle center will be designed in the style of a Spanish village and offer up to 70 retailers at opening.

Retailers at opening will include Calvin Klein, Cole Haan, Columbia Sportswear, Guess, H&M, Levi’s, Nike, Puma, Tilly’s, Tommy Hilfiger, Under Armour and White House Black Market. Key restaurant tenants upon opening will include Panera Bread, Ruby’s Diner and Starbucks. The final development plan includes more than 12 restaurant and dining options, including four restaurants with ocean views overlooking the Marblehead Coastal development.

Craig Realty Group, developer of the center, has announced several key executive hires for the Outlets at San Clemente, including Susan Jennrich as general manager, Nicky See as marketing director, and Greg Todd as operations director.

The grand opening of Outlets at San Clemente will take place in October. Additional stores and restaurants will open throughout 2016.

Germany’s discount grocer Lidl lays more tracks for U.S. debut

McLean, Va. – German discount grocer Lidl continues to lay the foundation for its store debut in the United States.

The company which is establishing a U.S. corporate headquarters, in Arlington County, Virginia, announced it will also open a regional headquarters and distribution center facility in Alamance County, North Carolina. The moves are part of Lidl’s early preparations to expand into the U.S.

“We are thrilled to open new facilities in North Carolina and look forward to introducing American consumers to a different type of shopping experience,” said Brendan Proctor, president and CEO of Lidl U.S. “Our philosophy is simple: we are focused on offering customers top quality products at the most competitive pricing in convenient locations. We plan to build on the foundation that has made Lidl so successful in Europe, while creating a unique experience for American consumers that will be unlike anything else in the market.”

Lidl operates nearly 10,000 stores in 26 countries throughout Europe. The retailer is privately held by the family-owned Schwarz Group.
