Pep Boys Names Interim CEO
Philadelphia Pep Boys announced Wednesday it has named current COO Mike Odell as the automotive parts company’s interim chief executive effective immediately. Odell, 45, replaces Jeff Rachor who resigned to become a principal in an automotive dealership venture, the company said. A former Sears Holdings Corp. executive, Odell is considered a “serious candidate” for the permanent chief executive position, according to the company, which also said it has no plans to conduct a search at this time.
Pep Boys also announced that Ray Arthur, 49, will join the company on Monday as its executive VP and CFO.
Hibbett Sports Names Execs
Birmingham, Ala. Hibbett Sports has announced several VP promotions.
David Benck was named VP and general counsel. Jeff Gray was named VP of real estate, having previously served as director of real estate. Formerly director of merchandise planning, Michael McAbee was named VP of merchandise planning.
Kroger Creates Multi-Cultural Business Dev. Position
Cincinnati The Kroger Co. has named Angel Colon to lead multi-cultural business development for the company. In his new position, Colon will be responsible for enhancing Kroger’s approach to serving its diverse customer base.
Colon previously held leadership positions in sales and ethnic marketing for Goya Foods and The Kellogg Co.
