Regency Center to launch 81,000-sq.-ft. ground-up development
Medford, Ore. — Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers announced the construction of Northgate Marketplace, an 80,900-sq.-ft. neighborhood center anchored by new-to-the-market anchors REI and Trader Joe’s.
The grocery-anchored center is located in the regional retail hub of Medford, Ore. In partnership with Northgate, Regency Centers is developing the first phase of its first shopping center in Medford which will create more than 250 permanent jobs.
Specialty grocer Trader Joe’s will open a 13,000-sq.-ft. store, and REI will occupy 23,500 sq. ft. The nearest location for both retailers is 118 miles. Junior anchors include Petco in a 12,500-sq.-ft. space and Ulta with a 10,000-sq.-ft. space.
Northgate Marketplace is a phased retail development which will encompass 417,000 sq. ft. on 40 acres. The first phase includes the 80,900-sq.-ft. center which is 75% preleased and will begin construction immediately with anchor openings scheduled for third quarter of 2012.
Fashion Place celebrates grand re-opening of extensive redevelopment
Murray, Utah — Fashion Place, in Murray, Utah, celebrates a grand re-opening on Nov. 11 with the opening of first-to-market stores Crate and Barrel and H&M, as well as openings of The North Face, Bastille, Ann Taylor and Loft. The new store openings kick-off the grand re-opening of the center’s redevelopment, which includes 98,000 sq. ft. of new retail offerings and an expanded entranceway to the community.
The 27,000-sq.-ft. Crate and Barrel is located adjacent to Cheesecake Factory. H&M’s new location, next to Crate and Barrel, is approximately 23,000 sq. ft. and features two floors of retail space.
The center opened even more stores this fall with the addition of Utah’s second Apple Store, Utah’s first Brio Tuscan Grille, and The Art of Shaving, Teavana, Flip Flop Shops, Brighton Collectibles, Yankee Candle and Red Rock Place.
Jones Lang LaSalle to lease and manage Grande Promenade
Charlotte, N.C. — Atlanta-based Jones Lang LaSalle announced that USA Grande Promenade Management chose the firm to lease and manage Grande Promenade, a 202,000-sq.-ft., multi-level, mixed-use property in Charlotte, N.C.
The new assignment brings Jones Lang LaSalle’s retail portfolio in North Carolina to nearly 1.4 million sq. ft. of space.
Grande Promenade is tenanted by Ashley Furniture, FedEx Kinko’s, Jos. A. Banks, Total Wine and RBC Bank, as well as numerous restaurants, including IHOP, Buffalo Wild Wings, Qdoba Mexican Grill and Shane’s Rib Shack.
