Report: Blank Label opens Boston store; plans six new locations

Boston – Specialty men’s apparel retailer Blank Label opens its second store in the Downtown Crossing neighborhood of Boston on June 30. According to CNBC, Blank Label, which opened as an online-only retailer in 2009 and opened its first store in Boston in 2013, plans to open six more new physical stores on the East Coast by 2016.

Blank Label provides custom-made menswear and utilizes physical stores as showrooms, with no inventory. Since opening its first brick-and-mortar location, Blank Label increased its daily shipments from roughly 20 to almost 100, with 60% of the growth coming from in-store orders.

Study: Sales flat, average transaction value up on Father’s Day

San Jose, Calif. – Despite an 8.1% year-over-year drop in traffic and decline of one full conversion point, sales on Father’s Day (June 16) remained essentially flat. According to data from in-store analytics provider RetailNext, a 15.4% increase in average transaction value (ATV) helped sales grow 0.1%.

For the week leading up to Father’s Day, sales declined every day compared to the equivalent day a year earlier. Daily decreases ranged from a high of 10.3% on June 13 to a low of 4% on June 9.

Levi’s launches omnichannel promotional campaign

San Francisco – The Levi’s brand is launching a new omnichannel global brand campaign, "Live in Levi’s," developed out of a creative collaboration with FCB (Foote, Cone & Belding) and The House Worldwide.

A social film showcasing the stories of people and products related to the Levi’s brand will launch in early August. In addition, a TV and cinema spot will begin running in late July. Featured taglines such as "For everybody who’s not just anybody" and "Look good on your way to what’s next" are at the center of the campaign. In August, fashion, music, sports and culture print outlets will show the new fall 2014 collection. Outdoor creative will begin running in late July in key markets including: New York, San Francisco, London, Paris, Berlin, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Mexico City, Mumbai and Tokyo.
