Roosevelt Field enters its final stage of redevelopment
Garden City, N.Y. — Simon announced that Roosevelt Field, located in Garden City, New York, has entered its final stages of redevelopment, and also released the names of retail brands to occupy the new two-level retail wing. Most of the stores, with some opening early September, will make their Long Island debut. The new wing will lead to the area's first Neiman Marcus store opening in February 2016.
The renovation of Roosevelt Field covered all the common areas including new flooring, sky lights, frameless glass handrails, LED energy efficient lighting and exterior enhancements. The dining district which opened in January features 17 quick service restaurants covering 50,000 sq. ft. Amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, banquette and communal table furnishings, a 'Green Wall,' family restrooms and 38-ft. vaulted ceilings.
Retail brands opening between September and November of this year in the new wing include: Jo Malone London, the FRYE Company, Furla, kate spade new york, Montblanc, Le Pain Quotidien, Jonathan Adler, JACHS New York and Allen Edmonds.
Hy-Vee gets into the walk-in clinic business
Hy-Vee announced Thursday that it would be placing retail clinics in two new Twin Cities-area stores opening in September.
For the clinics in the New Hope and Oakdale stores, Hy-Vee has teamed with North Memorial Health Care, whose physician assistants and nurses will staff the North Memorial Express Clinics.
“We are excited to bring together these two respected brands to offer easy access to affordable and convenient care,” Kelly Macken-Marble, North Memorial Health Care president of population health and ambulatory services. “This is a natural partnership since both Hy-Vee and North Memorial are focused on innovative ways that make getting and staying healthy easier. These two walk-in clinics are another way that North Memorial is expanding services that lead to better health.”
Like at other retail clinics, the North Memorial Express clinic will accept walk-in patients and appointments for patients with ear infections, the flu and other common ailments, as well as wellness tests and health screenings. The clinics are part of Hy-Vee’s plan to bring health and wellness offerings to the Twin Cities through new store openings, with four or five new stores planned each year for the next few years.

Belk Bowl to experience Underwood Effect
From American Idol winner a decade ago to one of the biggest names in entertainment, Carrie Underwood will add extra star power to the 14th annual Belk Bowl football game slated for December 30.
The seven-time Grammy award winner will serve as the headline act for pre-game festivities at the Belk Bowl in which Southeastern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference champions square off. The game will be play on Saturday, Dec. 30 at the Bank of America Stadium in Belk’s hometown of Charlotte, N.C. A free fan fest preceded the Dec. 30th matchup and begins at 10 a.m. Underwood is scheduled to perform at 1:30 p.m. followed by kick off at 3:30 p.m.
"Carrie Underwood is a tremendous addition to this year's Belk Bowl," said Jon Pollack, Belk's executive vice president of sales promotion, marketing and e-commerce. "We look forward to a dynamic and high energy performance that will be the perfect launch to our game day."
Underwood and her style of country music align well with the Belk brand. The retailer won’t have to worry about objectionable lyrics or contrived wardrobe malfunctions from an entertainer whose family friendly personal brand resonates with many of those who are football fans and shop at the retailers 297 stores in 16 southern states.
Underwood has sold more than 56 million records, recorded 21 #1 singles, is the first female artist to be twice named the Academy of Country Music's Entertainer of the Year and showed some serious acting skills in 2013 when she starred as Maria von Trapp in NBC's three-hour holiday special The Sound of Music Live!. In addition, every Sunday night she appears in the homes of millions of Americans singing and introductory ditty to the NFL’s Sunday Night Football which tends to feature that week’s marquee matchup.
