Rose Paving ranked among Chicago’s Top 100 workplaces

Bridgeview, Ill. — Rose Paving Co., which provides complete parking-lot management solutions nationwide, has been named a Chicago Tribune Top Workplace for 2010 in the small-sized company category. One hundred companies, organizations, and agencies were honored at an awards ceremony on Nov. 9 hosted by the Chicago Tribune.

The awards, given for measured qualities including company leadership, career opportunities, workplace flexibility, and compensation & benefits were presented to Chicago-area companies for the very first time.

Best Buy offers deals beyond Cyber Monday

MINNEAPOLIS Best Buy announced that it is offering deals beyond Cyber Monday. This week, the retailer said it is offering special savings on popular entertainment and technology gifts.

“We know technology is topping holiday wish lists and we want to people to enjoy some of the best deals on the most popular tech gifts,” said Mike Vitelli, president of the Americas for Best Buy. “The holidays are all about connecting with and enjoying time with friends and family, and we’re making that possible with some great values that are only available at Best Buy.”

Best Buy is offering special savings on packages combining a Sony Internet Connectable LED-LCD HDTV (two models are 3D-ready), and a 160GB PlayStation 3 with integrated Blu-ray player, ranging from $1,299.98 to $2,199.98. In addition, at its Magnolia Home Theater locations, Best Buy is offering packages featuring Sony TVs and PlayStation3 for $2,299.98 and $2,899.98.

The retailer is also offering a free Microsoft LifeCam Studio webcam (a $99.99 value) with any purchase of a Samsung QX410 laptop for only $799.99 from Dec. 5 through Dec. 24.

Sam’s Club helps bring holiday cheer to needy families

BENTONVILLE, Ark. Sam’s Club announced that it has joined Off the Field professional football players’ wives association to host the Fourth Annual Dream Drive for The Salvation Army and its Adopt-a-Family program. Through this program, 10 pre-selected families in 10 cities across the country will receive $1,000 worth of food and holiday gifts, including clothes, personal items, electronics and toys from Sam’s Club.

“Sam’s Club is excited to continue its partnership with The Salvation Army and Off the Field,” said Sharon Orlopp, SVP people at Sam’s Club. “Now in its fourth year, Dream Drive will help brighten the holiday spirit for families in need by providing them with the food, gifts and other essentials on their wish list to help make this season memorable.”

Dream Drive will be held Dec. 16 at Sam’s Club locations in select U.S. areas: Baltimore; Chicago; Cincinnati; Dallas; Houston; Miami; Philadelphia; Phoenix; San Francisco/Oakland and Washington, DC. Off the Field participants shopping for this year’s Salvation Army families include Roxi McNabb in Washington, D.C., Dottie Palmer in Cincinnati, Denise Clark in Chicago and Kimberly Alexander in Dallas.
