Saks Opens Saudi Arabia Store
New York City Saks Inc. announced Monday the opening of Saks Fifth Avenue in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Jeddah is the second licensed Saks Fifth Avenue Store in Saudi Arabia and the fifth in the Middle East.
The three-level, 44,900-sq.-ft. store is located in the Sari City Centre (Star Avenue), an upscale development in Jeddah.
Jeddah, located on the coast of the Red Sea, is the major urban center of western Saudi Arabia and is home to over 3.4 million people. The Jeddah store will be operated by Fashion Village Trading Co., which also operates the Saks Fifth Avenue store in Riyadh that opened in 2001.
Nordstrom to Open Outlet in Cincinnati
Seattle While many retailers are curbing expansion plans, Nordstrom said Tuesday it will open a Nordstrom Rack outlet at Rockwood Pavilion shopping center in Cincinnati. Other tenants in this mall include TJ Maxx and Steinmart.
The store, which will be 35,000 sq. ft., will be the second Nordstrom Rack location in Ohio. The first opened in October in Legacy Village, Lyndhurst, Ohio.
The company, which also operates one full-line Nordstrom store in Beachwood Place, Ohio, plans to open a second department store at Cincinnati’s Kenwood Towne Centre on Sept. 25.
Paesano’s to open second store in Philadelphia
Philadelphia Michael Salove Co., an X Team partner, announced the completion of a lease transaction with Paesano’s Philly Style in Philadelphia.
This second location for the gourmet sandwich shop will occupy over 1,200 sq. ft. in the Italian Market area and plans to open this winter.
