Sears offers advice service to loyalty members

Hoffman Estates, Ill. – Sears is offering a new service called Get Advice to members of its Shop Your Way omni-channel loyalty program. Shop Your Way members can post online requests for advice on shopping decisions and receive answers from both Sears associates and other loyalty members.

In addition to posting answers, members can also vote on answers they think are the most helpful. The service is designed to generate answers within minutes and currently is only open Shop Your Way members shopping at Sears and not Kmart.

Mackenthun’s offers ShopWell nutrition scoring app

Waconia, Minn. – Mackenthun’s Fine Foods is rolling out a suite of nutrition tools through a partnership with ShopWell, a personalized nutrition app. Shoppers in Mackenthun’s will be able to learn about the health benefits of foods, find healthier alternatives for their nutrition goals, and avoid allergens.

ShopWell’s patented personalized nutrition scoring algorithm was developed and is maintained by Registered Dietitians based on USDA guidelines and the latest nutrition research. It takes into consideration the age group and gender of an individual as well as their health goals, wants, and food allergies. By cross-referencing the ingredients in food products with an individual’s unique profile, ShopWell generates a personalized nutrition score that indicates whether the food is a good fit.

The ShopWell nutrition score will also be printed out on shelf labels to help those who don’t have the ShopWell app. Although it is not personalized, this score allows shoppers to quickly compare the relative health benefits of similar products while in the grocery aisle.

StyleChat launches fashion app

Fremont, Calif. – StyleChat is a new, recently launched smartphone fashion app. The free app allows users to find the latest fashion trends from anywhere online.

Users can then create unique collections, style looks and mix-and-match pieces with items they already have. Consumers can also try on looks on their selfie, and when ready to buy, purchase with one tap.

StyleChat also offers the StyleMe visualization tool, which allows users to discover items from anywhere online and virtually try them on, anywhere and at any time. StyleMe allows users to try on jewelry and eyewear, and in the future will expand to cover additional accessories and clothing.

Furthermore, StyleChat delivers a social commerce experience for both consumers and fashion professionals by combining augmented reality, social networking and online shopping in one integrated mobile app. StyleChat’s features enable users to emulate the in-store shopping experience, including the fitting room. This summer, StyleChat will introduce a series of strategic brand and content partnerships with a variety of fashion influencers who will each create personalized collections and style boards to inspire users.
