Simply Modern Bridal relocates Fredericksburg, Va., shop
Fredericksburg, Va. — Simply Modern Bridal has signed a 5,000-sq.-ft. lease for retail space near Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches in the Central Park power center in Fredericksburg, Va. The new store is slated to open in December.
Keller Williams represented Simply Modern Bridal in the transaction, and Rappaport Retail Brokerage represented the landlord.
The 2.5-million-sq.-ft. Central Park features more than 200 retailers and restaurants, including Old Navy, Target, Lowe’s, Kohl’s and Best Buy. The Rappaport Companies manages the center.
U.S. Postal Service relocates Manhattan branch
New York — The United States Postal Service has signed an agreement to occupy 8,440 sq. ft. of retail space at 333 East 14th Street in Manhattan, according to the Feil Organization.
The Peter Stuyvesant branch of the U.S.P.S. inked the 10-year sublease for the space, which includes 6,940 sq. ft. on the ground floor and 1,500 sq. ft. of basement. It is a relocation of the Postal Service’s existing 432 East 14th Street branch.
“The Post Office has been downsizing its space needs in response to the growing use of email and other technologies,” said Randall Briskin, VP of leasing with Feil. “The new space is smaller than, but in close proximity to its current location, allowing the U.S.P.S. to continue convenient service for Stuyvesant Town, the East Village and the surrounding area.
Opus completes fourth Gander Mountain store
Minneapolis — The Opus Group has completed a 45,600-sq.-ft. retail building for Gander Mountain in Albany, Ga. The project’s completion marks the fourth collaboration between Opus and Gander Mountain in the last 22 months. The new store opened on Nov. 12.
The Albany store represents a new, smaller concept for Gander Mountain.
Opus also constructed Gander Mountain projects in Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Valdosta, Ga., and provided construction management services for the retailer’s new store in Opelika, Ala.
Opus Development Company, LLC provided development services, Opus Design Build, LLC was the design-builder for the project and Opus AE Group, LLC provided architecture and engineering services.
