Smashburger to open first Jacksonville location at Seminole Shoppes
Neptune Beach, Fla. — Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased restaurant space in Neptune Beach, Fla., at Seminole Shoppes to Smashburger.
Smashburger has leased 2,100 sq. ft., bringing the center to 96% leased. The restaurant is slated to open for business in fall 2011 and is the first store location for the franchise chain in the Jacksonville area.
The 78,240-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Publix Super Market.
Planet Fitness to open at Midway Crossing
Elyria, Ohio — Centro Properties Group announced that a 21,936-sq.-ft. lease has been executed with Planet Fitness at Midway Crossing, located in Elyria, Ohio.
New York City-based Centro owns Midway Crossing.
Baker Katz acquires Four Corners Shopping Center
Tomball, Texas — Houston-based commercial real estate brokerage Baker Katz said it has acquired the Four Corners Shopping Center in Tomball, Texas.
Baker Katz purchased the 120,000-sq.-ft. center through an investment fund dedicated to real estate development, acquisition and ownership. The center holds the last remaining big-box vacancy in Tomball, a 45,000-sq.-ft. former Kroger space. Baker Katz plans to begin a major renovation on the center later this year and will look to re-lease the space.
Currently, the center is 35% occupied by such retailers as Tuesday Morning, Rent-A-Center, Firestone and Domino’s Pizza.
