Speed Commerce unveils Oracle Commerce accelerator
Dallas — Speed Commerce Inc., a vertically integrated, omni-channel platform of e-commerce services, has launched Sara X, a pre-configured, feature-rich accelerator for Oracle Commerce. Sara X is targeted to midsize e-commerce retailers and is pre-configured with features and functionality generally found in e-commerce web sites with a fully customizable "look & feel" to represent the retailer’s brand.
Sara X includes full-feature omni-channel capabilities including order management, ship to and from a store, pick up in store, and fulfillment from multiple facilities.

Loss prevention associates from Old Navy, Beall’s Department Store honored by NRF
Washington, D.C. — The National Retail Federation (NRF) presented its annual Ring of Excellence, Law Enforcement Retail Partnership and Retail Case of the Year awards during the NRF Loss Prevention Conference and Expo on Thursday, June 12. The 2014 award recipients include:
Loss Prevention Case of the Year Award: Barry Vaughn, area investigator, Old Navy. This award recognizes investigators whose work has made a significant impact on their companies, communities and industry. Vaughn is being recognized for his work uncovering a complex, multi-state scheme involving fraudulent debit card purchases worth more than $500,000. Several local, state and federal law enforcement officers from multiple agencies also played a role in the case. As a result, the individual convicted was sentenced to three years in prison.
Ring of Excellence Award: Dan Doyle, senior VP and chief human resources officer, Beall’s Department Stores. This award recognizes pioneers in the retail LP community whose honor, integrity and character serve as an example.
Doyle, an LP veteran and industry leader, is being honored for his contributions, achievements and outstanding leadership throughout a 40-year career. In 2008, Doyle was awarded NRF’s Silver Plaque, which is given each year at NRF’s annual convention in recognition of an outstanding retailer’s contribution to the industry.
Kroger recognized for disability hiring efforts
Cincinnati — The Kroger Co. has been named Employer of the Year by the Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities. The Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities fosters the employment of young people with disabilities.
The Bridges from School to Work program run by the Marriott Foundation helps more than one thousand young people enter the workforce annually as they leave high school, and partners with Kroger to place young people with disabilities in its stores in cities across the U.S.
"We are honored to receive this recognition from the Marriott Foundation," said Katy Barclay, Kroger’s senior VP of human resources. "We have a long tradition of hiring people with disabilities, especially on our front lines serving customers. We thank the Marriott Foundation for the valuable work they do to help businesses meet their workforce development needs."
