Sports Clips to open at Hyde Park Plaza
Cincinnati Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space in Cincinnati at Hyde Park Plaza to Sports Clips.
Sports Clips has leased 1,323 sq. ft., bringing the center to 98% leased. It is slated to open this fall.
The 396,861-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Kroger and Biggs alongside national retailers such as Michaels, Massage Envy, Panera Bread and Staples.
New supermarket has rustic design
New York City Pequot Lakes Supervalu has opened in the heart of Minnesota’s lake country. The new supermarket features a rustic design modeled after the area’s numerous vacation cottages and wilderness homes. Designed by Supervalu Store Design Services, the 30,000-sq.-ft. supermarket is outfitted with authentic cabin decor, including split log signage, stacked stone pillars, deer antler chandeliers and even hanging canoes that once belonged to a local resort.
To make the store especially relevant to the Pequot Lakes community, the interior walls are lined with photos of outdoor recreation in the region, each aisle directory is named after a nearby lake and bulletin boards in the dining area give anglers an opportunity to show off their latest catch.
Although Pequot Lakes flies the Supervalu banner, it is actually owned by an independent grocer supplied by Supervalu’s wholesale division.
New retail concept set to debut
New York City Max & Jill, a new off-price fashion and home department store concept, will open its first location in Whitehall, Pa., on Wednesday. Additional locations are set to open in Willow Grove, Pa.; Holmdel, N.J.; and Levittown, N.Y., are set to open by October.
According to a company release: “In these unstable economic times, we offer consumers the most affordable prices for the latest fashion. Furthermore, honesty and fair trade is our policy and we will not use a high- to low-pricing strategy. We simply sell products at the lowest price possible and offer fun shopping incentives such as sprees, merchandise giveaways and special timely discounts.”
