Starbucks details store closures
Seattle Starbucks Corp. has released a list of the 200 stores it plans to shutter. The chain announced its intent to close the stores in January, but did not specify the locations.
Op launches second ‘Summer of Music’ campaign with young celebrities
BENTONVILLE, Ark. Apparel brand Op is showing off its laid-back style with a new advertising campaign.
The Op “Summer of Music” print, outdoor and online marketing campaigns features today’s hottest television, film and music celebrities, including: 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord, One Tree Hill‘s Sophia Bush, musician Solange Knowles, musician Joel Madden, reality star Brody Jenner, Hannah Montana star Cody Linley and actor-musician Bow Wow.
The Op cast rock out to a Good Charlotte concert on the beach in typical laid back Op style. The campaign showcases the new spring and summer Op collections, which are exclusively available at Wal-Mart and www.walmart.com/op.
The “Summer of Music” campaign was shot on Westward Beach in Malibu, CA by photographer Larry Bartholomew who is known for his candid shooting style. The cast will appear this month in fashion, lifestyle and entertainment magazines and online at www.op.com. In addition, AnnaLynne McCord, Sophia Bush, Solange Knowles, Joel Madden, Brody Jenner, Cody Linley and Bow Wow will host a launch party in Los Angeles this summer and make personal appearances on behalf of Op.
In 2008, Op re-launched with a highly successful national advertising campaign featuring Rumer Willis Kristin Cavallari, Christina Milian, Josie Maran, Pete Wentz, Corbin Bleu and Wilmer Valderrama.
Limited Brands reports March 2009 sales
COLUMBUS, Ohio Apparel and accessories conglomerate Limited Brands experienced a decrease in same store sales, the company announced Thursday.
The company reported a comparable store sales decrease of 9% for the five weeks ended April 4, 2009, compared with the five weeks ended April 5, 2008. The company reported net sales of $646.2 million for the five weeks ended April 4, 2009, compared with net sales of $733.2 million last year.
Limited Brands reported a comparable store sales decrease of 8% for the nine weeks ended April 4, 2009, compared with the nine weeks ended April 5, 2008. The company reported net sales of $1.194 billion for the nine weeks ended April 4, 2009, compared with sales of $1.348 billion last year.
Limited Brands, through Victoria’s Secret, Pink, Bath & Body Works, C.O. Bigelow, La Senza, White Barn Candle Co. and Henri Bendel, presently operates 3,011 specialty stores.
