Stater Bros. opens eco-friendly store
San Bernardino, Calif. — Stater Bros. will open a new, eco-friendly supermarket in Lake Elsinore, Calif., on Feb. 22.
At 43,279 sq. ft., the new Stater Bros. is over 76% larger than a smaller Stater Bros. location it is replacing. The store features refrigerated display cases with LED lighting, ECM motors, and glass doors using 60% less energy. It also has lighting system that use dimming ballasts, energy efficient lamps, and occupancy sensors.
Other environmental features include:
- Upgraded refrigeration systems using non-ozone depleting refrigerants;
- Energy management system controlling refrigeration, HVAC, Demand Response, and lighting control; and
- Recycling center located inside for customers to recycle paper and plastic grocery bags.
Golfsmith names president
Austin, Texas — Golfsmith International Holdings has appointed Sue E. Gove as president of the company, in addition to maintaining her role as COO and CFO.
Gove was appointed CFO in March 2009. She will continue to report directly to Martin Hanaka, CEO.
OfficeMax sets date for shareholders meeting
Naperville, Ill. — OfficeMax announced that it intends to hold its annual meeting of shareholders at 2 p.m. (Central Daylight Time) on April 30.
The meeting will be held at the Hotel Arista at City Gate Centre, Naperville, Ill.
