Stein Mart announces new office of the president
Jacksonville, Fla. — Stein Mart’s board of directors has appointed D. Hunt Hawkins and Brian R. Morrow to share the newly created office of the president. Both men will continue to report to CEO Jay Stein.
"Hunt and Brian have made significant contributions in the success of the company," said Stein. "Their promotions are a testament to their leadership that has built a team that has produced seven consecutive quarters of comp store gains, a dramatic departure from the achievements of past management, and reflect the confidence the board and I have in them."
Hawkins joined the company in 1994, and rose through the ranks. In 2011, he was named executive VP and COO.
Morrow joined the company in 2010 as executive VP and chief merchandising officer. Previously, he served as senior VP and general merchandising manager with Macy’s North/Marshall Field’s.

Overstock.com is now offering insurance for vehicle, residential and small businesses on its online shopping site.

Once shoppers have elected an insurance plan, they can then manage their policy online from the Overstock.com site. From boat and snowmobile insurance to workers comp, Overstock.com offers a range of policies.

Overstock.com has partnered with Insuritas for this launch of its insurance offering.
NACDS appoints new officers, members
The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has elected new officers, one new executive committee member and three new board of directors members for the coming year during its annual meeting this weekend.
John Standley, chairman and CEO of Rite Aid, was elected as the new NACDS chairman of the board of directors. Standley succeeds Robert Narveson, president and CEO of Thrifty White Pharmacy. Additionally, Juan Ortiz, CEO Navarro Discount Pharmacies, was named vice chairman and Randall Edeker, chairman and CEO Hy-Vee, was elected treasurer.
“It is a pleasure to welcome John Standley as the new chairman of the NACDS Board of Directors,” said NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson, IOM, CAE. “In his role as vice chairman of the board and chairman of the NACDS Political Action Committee, John has demonstrated leadership and a strong commitment to the industry and to NACDS.”
The NACDS board also elected Randall Edeker as a new executive committee member. Three new board of directors also were elected: Carmen Bauza, SVP and general merchandise manager, health and wellness for Walmart; Daniel Salemi, RPh, president of pharmacy division for New Albertsons; and J.K. Symancyk, president of Meijer.
