Supervalu selects LoyaltyOne solution to develop customer segmentation strategy

Toronto — LoyaltyOne announced that Supervalu has agreed to use its Precima customer-centric analytics solution to develop a multi-dimensional customer segmentation. The U.S. grocer expects the solution will strengthen and expand its customer-driven marketing, merchandising and operations strategies.

"Our shoppers will benefit most from this strategic pick as we enrich their shopping experience and focus more on the customer as we make key business decisions," said Wesley Story, Supervalu group VP customer insight and loyalty. "Precima’s approach to building a customer segmentation strategy grounded in insights that combine behavioral analysis with market data and research will result in innovative programs across all facets of our enterprise that are relevant and more personalized to our customers."

Alliance Data Systems extends agreement with Samuels Jewelers

Dallas — Alliance Data Systems Corp., a provider of loyalty and marketing solutions derived from transaction-rich data, announced its retail services business has signed a multi-year renewal agreement to continue managing the private-label credit card program for Samuels Jewelers, which operates 104 stores under several banners.

Alliance Data will continue to provide Samuels Jewelers with a turnkey private-label credit card solution that offers cardholders flexible financing and payment options; exclusive cardholder offers; early event notices and invitations to cardholder-only events; and helpful reminders and savings offers for special occasions.

Alliance Data also will support Samuels Jewelers’ rebranding efforts for the Diamond Elite Card by redesigning card marketing collateral and reissuing card plastics this fall.

“Over the years, Alliance Data has helped us grow our cardholder base and drive sales,” said Michael Feinman, COO of Samuels Jewelers. “We look forward to continuing to work with Alliance Data to continue developing truly integrated credit and marketing solutions for our growing business.”

Great Lakes Brewing Company selects transportation management provider

DALLAS — Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology, announced that Great Lakes Brewing Company (GLBC) has selected the third party logistics (3PL) provider to handle its North American transportation management activities. GLBC will leverage Transplace’s comprehensive logistics technology and services for improved transportation planning, execution and management of all outbound shipments from its central distribution center to its growing distributor network throughout the Great Lakes region and surrounding areas.

“Since our founding, Great Lakes Brewing Company has been committed to providing our customers with a high-quality product and service experience,” said Daniel Conway, president and co-founder of Great Lakes Brewing Company. “It was important for us to select a logistics service provider that understood and aligned with our company culture and values, and would work collaboratively with us to optimize our transportation operations and improve service levels in an environmentally respectful way.”

Transplace will leverage its technology to streamline the daily operations of GLBC’s freight flows in North America. The 3PL will procure and manage the beer company’s truckload contracts with the carrier community and ensure compliance with temperature requirements associated with beverage shipments.
