Survey Names Top Customer-Service Retailers
Findlay, Ohio, Nordstrom, Publix and RadioShack were tops in their respective retail categories in the recent customer-service survey “RealPeopleRatings” by the Corporate Research International market research firm. Each quarter, the study “illustrates the importance of brand image and customer perception,” according to the company.
Survey respondents were asked to rate their perception of businesses’ customer service on a scale of one to 10, with 10 being the highest rating. A pool of panelists participate in the quarterly surveys; 3,074 panelists were involved in the most recent one.

Trump lends name to Staples furniture
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. Donald Trump and Staples have announced a licensing agreement, giving Staples the right to use the real estate mogul’s name for a line of office furniture.
The slogan for the new line is: “Your office is no place to skimp on style.” The line will be introduced at a press event in New York City on July 10
HP appoints new marketing vp
PALO ALTO, Calif. HP has announced the appointment of Ron Coughlin as senior vp of worldwide marketing for the company’s imaging and printing group, effective July 23.
Coughlin will be based in San Diego and have responsibility for driving the group’s marketing strategy, planning and execution on a global basis across all customer segments and the group’s five business units. This includes responsibility for customer, market and strategic planning, marketing operations, worldwide sales, communications and development of go-to-market assets.
Coughlin comes to HP from PepsiCo, where he was most recently senior vp and chief marketing officer of the company’s international beverage business.
