Target announces brand and collection line-up for Canadian stores

Mississauga, Ontario — Target officially unveiled its partners, owned brands and limited-time only collections that will be featured in its Canadian stores, which will start opening in March/April 2013.

In addition to Target’s ongoing partnerships, the Canadian stores will include an exclusive, limited-time only collaboration with Roots. The new Roots Outfitters collection for Target will offer fashion for women, men, boys, girls and toddlers, and will be available from March to June 2013.

In April, Canadians also will be able to experience Target’s latest designer collaboration with a collection from Hollywood stylist Kate Young. The collection will be available from April 14 to the end of May 2013.

In addition to a wide selection of leading national brands, the Canadian stores will feature Target’s standard line-up of owned brands, as well as its exclusive partnership brands, ranging from Archer Farms and Market Pantry to Liz Lange for Target Maternity and Mossimo.

Target Canada unveils exclusives, partnerships ahead of opening

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Target has revealed its exclusive partnerships, own brands and limited collections that Canadian consumers can look forward to experiencing once the retailer opens its first stores in the country this spring.

"We are excited to announce a selection of brands that will be available in our Canadian stores in 2013," said Target Canada SVP merchandising, John Morioka. "Target is known for its innovative designer partnerships and assortment of exceptional products that deliver on our Expect More. Pay Less. brand promise and we look forward to bringing a number of our more prominent brands to bring the true Target experience to Canadian stores."

Embracing the Canadian culture, Target Canada will offer an exclusive, limited time only collaboration with Roots, a popular Canadian-based clothing retailer. The Roots Outfitters collection for Target includes fashion for women, men, boys, girls and toddlers, and will be available from March to June 2013.

Other collections coming to the Canadian stores include:

  • Nate Berkus Collection – An exclusive assortment of bedding, bath and design elements from acclaimed interior design expert, Nate Berkus.

  • Sonia Kashuk Collection – High-quality cosmetics from makeup artist Sonia Kashuk.

  • Giada De Laurentiis for Target – An exclusive line of affordable cookware products from the popular TV chef

  • Shaun White – A full range of apparel including denim, shorts, woven tops, hooded sweatshirts and graphic tees from the snowboarder.

In addition, Canadian customers will find Target’s own brands including Archer Farms, up & up and C9 by Champion.

Ex SuperValu and Pepsi execs join Clorox board

Former SuperValu CEO Jeff Noddle and former Pepsi Bottling Group, Mexico, chairman Rogelio Rebolledo are the newest members of the Clorox board of directors.

Noddle, 66, served as executive chairman at SuperValu until he retired in 2010 and from 2002 through 2009 he was the company’s chairman and CEO. Rebolledo, 68, retired from Pepsi’s Mexican bottling operation as chairman in 2007.

"Jeff Noddle and Rogelio Rebolledo bring tremendous experience to our board," said lead director of the Clorox board, Bob Matschullat. "Having led the nation’s third-largest grocery retailer and leading food distributor, Jeff brings tremendous operational, supply chain and strategic leadership experience to the Clorox board. His deep knowledge of the consumer packaged goods industry and our company’s business will be tremendous assets to the board. And Rogelio brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of multinational operations and international expansion, particularly in Latin America. His experience in large-company leadership, marketing, branding and international business will be invaluable to Clorox and help us with our businesses in Latin America and with the U.S. Hispanic consumer."

In addition to his years at SuperValu, Noddle is a former chairman of the board of directors of The Food Marketing Institute and he currently serves as a director at Donaldson Company, Inc., and at Ameriprise Financial, Inc.

Rebolledo began his career in the CPG industry at Procter & Gamble but spent 30 years at PepsiCo Inc., before retiring in 2007. He began his career with PepsiCo at Sabritas, the salty snack food unit of Frito-Lay International in Mexico. He went on to serve as president and CEO of Frito-Lay International and president and CEO of Pepsi’s bottling operation in Mexico. Rebolledo currently serves as a director of Kellogg Company.

Noddle and Rebolledo both received degrees from the University of Iowa.

Clorox is a $5.5 billion company known for its namesake household cleaning products as well as brands such as Pine-Sol, Fresh Step cat litter, Glad, Kingsford, Hidden Valley, KC Masterpiece, Brita and Burt’s Bees.
