Target makes a splash with pop-up in Grand Central Station
New York — Target is celebrating the launch of Sonia Kashuk’s new line bath and body products collection with a larger-than-life art installation and pop-up store in New York City’s Grand Central Station. The centerpiece of the space is a gleaming white bathtub on a platform that is raised some eight feet off the floor. A live model sits in the tub, which is surrounded by bubble-like balloons.
The new line, which includes shower gels, body lotions, loofas and shower caps, is on display in the pop-up and available for sale.
In tandem with the launch, the brand is running an Instagram contest: Four winners who tag #skbody will be entered to win "a full scent family of products."
ShopKo announces five new Hometown format stores
Green Bay, Wis. — Shopko continues on its growth path with the opening of five new Shopko Hometown stores in November. The new stores are located in: Afton, Wyo.; Ellsworth, Wis.; St. Peter, Minn.; Tomahawk, Wis., and Winneconne, Wis.
The Shopko Hometown retail format, developed to augment Shopko’s larger store model and focused on serving the needs of smaller rural communities, combines retail health services with a broad offering of national brands and high-value private label brands of apparel, home furnishings, toys, consumer electronics, seasonal items, every day consumable items and lawn and garden products – all in an attractive, well laid out, easy-to-shop store format.
"We’re excited to continue the growth of the Shopko Hometown concept with these new stores and expect them to be well received by residents in each of these five great communities," said Mike Bettiga, Shopko Interim CEO and COO.
The addition of these five stores brings the total count of Shopko Hometown stores to 180, making Shopko one of the nation’s largest retailers serving smaller communities.
