Former PepsiCo exec sees light at new firm
Jeremy Cage was named CEO of the global LED lighting firm Lighting Science Group.
Cage, 48, was selected to lead the company based on his experience in building major brands, his success in developing commercially-appealing technologies and bringing them to market, as well as his distinguished track record of strengthening business models and improving operational efficiencies, according to a statement by Lighting Science Group.
Cage replaces Brad Knight, who served as interim CEO while the board worked with an executive search firm. Knight will continue to serve as COO.
Over the past decade, Cage served in executive positions at PepsiCo, Inc., including SVP of Innovation and Insights for its U.S. Beverage business, chief marketing officer of International Foods, and, most recently as SVP of the global snacks group.

"Jeremy is a proven strategic thinker, inspiring leader, and brand builder who has successfully introduced major innovations at some of the world’s best known companies, resulting in accelerated sales volume, profit and market share growth. Cage said he plans to accelerate the firm’s growth by building on core competencies of excellence in innovation and strong and differentiated brand development.
"We will focus on unleashing the science of light and sustainable technologies to markets ranging from major cities, commercial centers, factories and retailers in developed markets to entire cities and villages in developing and emerging markets," Cage said.
Saatchi ads digital talent
The Saatchi & Saatchi X division of the Publicis Groupe named three new executives focused on digital media.
Springdale, AR.-based Saatchi & Saatchi X said it hired Alan Segal as digital creative director, Brandon Viveiros as digital production director and Chance Chapman as senior digital strategist.

The addition of Alan, Brandon, and Chance makes our already solid team even stronger."
Segal previously worked for Saatchi and is rejoining the firm after previously serving as a senior consultant for Walmart.com. Saatchi didn’t elaborate on Viveiros prior employer, but noted that he has worked for clients such as AT&T, State Farm, Quaker, Chili’s, and Hilton. Chapman previously worked for AlphaBoost Inc., a social advertising start-up where he served as director of innovation in New York City.
