Three more retailers sign with The Palms
Miami — Three new retailers opened at The Palms at Town and Country in Miami during May. They include a 23,070l-sq.-ft. Total Wine & More, a 2,518-sq.-ft. Voodoo BBQ & Grill, a New Orleans-style barbecue restaurant, and a 2,119-sq.-ft. Crazy 8, a kids’ line retailer from Gymboree Corp.
Under construction now and opening in November is a 47,982-sq.-ft. DICK’s Sporting Goods.
The 75-acre, 700,000 sq. ft. open-air lifestyle center stands at the junction of the Florida Turnpike and Kendall Drive. The traffic count on Kendall Drive exceeds 90,000 vehicles per day, while the count on Florida’s Turnpike is more than 102,350 vehicles.
Owned by financial services organization TIAA-CREF, the center is managed by Jones Lang LaSalle Retail.
Key retailers include Nordstrom Rack, Loehmann’s, New York & Co., Marshalls, Men’s Wearhouse, blue Martini, Cadillac Ranch, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Publix.
Redesigned Build-A-Bear comes to Cherry Hill Mall
Cherry Hill, N.J. — A reimagined Build-A-Bear Workshop will open at Cherry Hill Mall this fall in a new 2,000-sq.-ft. location in the J. C. Penney wing. The new design incorporates technology into the personalized stuffed animal-making experience.
Customers refine their stuffed animals with digital personality emoticons and sounds including current music hits and their own voices. The new design also features a digital bathtub that recognizes items as they are placed in it and reacts with sensory effects such as virtual bubbles. Customers can also create a birth certificate for their creation.
The new prototype received a 2013 Industry Excellence Award from the Digital Screenmedia Association.
Anchored by Nordstrom, Macy’s and J. C. Penney, Cherry Hill Mall is owned, managed and leased by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust.
Hyde Park Village signs 10 new retailers
Tampa, Fla. — Madison Marquette Retail Services has announced the opening of five new retailers with five more to come this year at its Hyde Park Village shopping center in Tampa, Fla.
The five open retailers include a 1,430-sq.-ft. Francesca’s Collections and four local and regional names: Betty with 1,000 sq. ft., a 939-sq.-ft. Don Me Now Styling & Clothing Lounge, FITniche with 2,251 sq. ft. and Piquant, a French restaurant and bakery, which took 5,397 sq. ft.
Still to come is a 6,500-sq.-ft. West Elm, slated to open in September. Another four local and regional names have signed on to take residence this year. Online retailer Dixieland Monogram will open its first brick and mortar store with 939 sq. ft. High Cotton Living will use 1,645 sq. ft. to sell furniture, home goods, clothing and accessories. Navy has taken 562 sq. ft. for its women’s shoes, jewelry and accessories boutique. Finally, The White Magnolia Bridal Collection will occupy 1,239 sq. ft.
