Tops selects next-generation POS software from Retalix
Dallas — Retalix announced Tuesday that grocery chain Tops Markets has selected Retalix’s StoreLine point-of-sale software application to lower the cost of ownership and increase the functionality of its front-end operations.
According to Tops, the chain was looking to upgrade its legacy POS software as part of a larger initiative to enhance customer service.
“Customer service and satisfaction are our top priorities, and due to its age, our previous POS system was not effectively meeting those needs,” said Mike Metz, VP of information technology at Tops. “We chose Retalix because their StoreLine offering was the most robust and intuitive solution available on the market — giving us needed flexibility as we continually expand our customer service efforts.”
The chain-wide rollout will begin in the first half of 2012 and should be completed over the next year. The solution contains advanced Store and POS functionality and supports customer loyalty, self-checkout, fuel management, QSR and a wide variety of electronic payment services.
Divaris Real Estate names general broker
Virginia Beach, Va. — Divaris Real Estate announced Tuesday the appointment of Eric Bucklew as general broker for its Virginia Beach office.
Bucklew will focus on retail sales and leasing services to support the expansion of DRE’s portfolio of leased and managed properties in the Hampton Roads, Va., region.
Winn-Dixie hits the gas on fuelperks! expansion
TAMPA, Fla.— Winn-Dixie Stores announced that beginning Tuesday, guests using the new Winn-Dixie Customer Reward Card (CRC) at any of the grocer’s 95 stores in the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Fla., Albany and Columbus, Ga. areas, can earn significant fuel discounts at participating Shell stations. The savings are part of Winn-Dixie’s fuelperks! Rewards Program.
For every $50 in qualified purchases using the new CRC at Winn-Dixie, guests earn a 5 cents-per-gallon discount on fuel that is redeemable on a single fill-up, up to 20 gallons at any one of more than 300 participating area Shell stations. Additionally, the more customer spends, the more fuelperks! they receive. For example, if a customer spends $100, he or she will earn a 10 cent-per-gallon discount, if a customer spends $150, he or she earns a 15 cent-per-gallon discount, etc. Shoppers also don’t have to spend $50 in one transaction. Purchases are automatically tracked on their receipt tape and each time the $50 threshold is met, another 5 cent-per-gallon discount on gas is earned.
