Tractor Supply Senior VP, Marketing
Brentwood, Tenn. Tractor Supply Co. announced Tuesday it had appointed John D. Wendler as senior VP, marketing.
Wendler will oversee all marketing activities for the company and will report directly to Jim Wright, chairman, president and CEO.
Most recently, Wendler worked at Express, a subsidiary of Limited Brands, Inc. where he held the position of executive VP of marketing and spearheaded their company’s brand repositioning.
Urban Outfitters Appoints COO for Europe
Philadelphia Urban Outfitters Thursday announced the appointment of Andrew McLean to the newly created position of COO for the company’s European operating divisions.
McLean, who begins Jan. 5, will be responsible for all European shared service operations, including finance, logistics, development and talent acquisition, for the company’s retail brands Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, as well as wholesale brands Free People and Leifsdottir.
“We are delighted that URBN’s expansion in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe has been met with so much success,” said Urban Outfitters CEO Glen T. Senk. “We are committed to continued growth abroad.”
McLean joins Urban Outfitters, Inc. from Liz Claiborne Inc., where he worked since 2003, most recently as president of the outlet division. Prior to Liz Claiborne Inc., McLean served as senior director, controller at Gap brand.
Wal-Mart Exec Joins Duckwall-ALCO
Abilene, Kan. Duckwall-ALCO Stores announced Thursday that Jim Spencer is joining the company on Dec. 15 as senior VP-operations. He comes to Duckwall-ALCO Stores with more than 18 years of store operations and retail-management experience with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
Spencer most recently spent three years with Wal-Mart’s international division where he was VP of operations. Previously he spent 15 years in various roles in Wal-Mart’s U.S. store operations.
